Waiting ver. 1They call it the waiting window for obvious reasons. The women whose lovers and husbands have gone to war. . . Thats where they wait for them. By that large window that overlooks the main road coming into the castle. Almost all the women living in the castle have sat there at least once.Eirika had only sat there once. She preferred to wait more privately, where she couldnt feel the pitying stares of those behind her.She waits in her room, because not all the soldiers come in by the main road in fanfare and trumpets. Some of them come through the back roads; she knows Seth is one of them. Hed rather avoid the noise and celebration of a return, or the solemn airs and weeping of a failed campaign. Hed rather come in through one of the older roads. She hopes he comes on the one she can see from her window. She thinks of other times she has waited here; she didnt always wait.
